Custom TTag targeting is designed for publishers that are able to modify their players to declare custom TTags (using the targeting parameter "ttags"). Also be aware that forecasting for custom TTag targeted campaigns is only available via the optional Inventory Availability Forecasting report. For more information, see "Custom Targeting" in the Advertising Technical Specification.
Omny Studio users: see this article in the Omny Help Guide → Using Triton Tags (TTags) for advertising targeting.
Custom Targeting Tags (TTags) in TAP work in conjunction with custom tags that are declared by your player. When there is a match, targeting is achieved and the flight can deliver to that player.
For example, if you have a custom in-dash player for motor vehicles, you can define the type of vehicle in the player with custom TTags such as vehicle:ford
, vehicle:4wd
, and vehicle:SUV
. Flights in TAP can then target those vehicles by targeting one or more of their TTags, in either AND or OR combinations, as long as the vehicles' players are configured to declare those TTags. For example:
- vehicle:ford targets any Ford vehicle.
- vehicle:ford AND vehicle:4wd targets any four-wheel-drive Ford vehicle.
- vehicle:ford OR vehicle:4wd targets any four-wheel-drive vehicle or any Ford vehicle (including any four-wheel-drive Ford vehicle).
- vehicle:4wd AND vehicle:SUV targets any four-wheel-drive SUV.
- Etc.
Creating Custom TTag Targeting Rules
Create TTag targeting rules in the Listener targeting section of TAP flight creation, under "Other."

- Click +Add value.
The values are added to the rule line near the bottom of the screen. - Select Match or Not match (Match = target players that match the TTag; Not match = target players that do not match the TTag.)
- Select either any ("OR") or all of ("AND").
- Click Add rule.
The rule is added to the flight's targeting rules:
