Packages for Ad Networks

TAP Programmatic replaces Yield-Op for programmatic advertising with Triton Digital.

Packages are created by ad networks to package publishers’ inventory and make it available to any TAP Programmatic-connected DSP, through deals. Once activated, a package is exposed to publishers and they decide if they want to opt-in. For the publisher, opting-in requires them to select the market type for the inventory they will send to the package – whether it will run in Private (1st look) or Open (2nd look) auction.

A publisher can opt-out of a package at any time.

To see your list of packages, go to Programmatic > Ad Networks > Packages.

The Ad Networks packages list shows the packages that you have created. As with all TAP module list pages, you can modify the list to your liking, as described here.

  1. Quick filters for All, Draft, Active, or “Not Archived.”

  2. Filter by package name, or status.

  3. List of packages.

  4. Module list options for customizing columns.

  5. Package options.

Item

Description

Package name

The name of the package.

Tip: Use a clear and easily understood name; the name is visible to publishers.

Revenue model

Indicates how the publisher's revenue is calculated for the inventory it brings to the package. Choose one of the options:

  • Fixed Price: A pre-defined fixed price paid to the publisher. If you select this option, you need to enter a publisher fixed price with two decimal points of precision (i.e., to the cent, such as "1.25" for "$1.25"). When currency is not indicated, it means “USD.” When the package uses a currency other than USD, the currency is indicated with the price. (See Currency Notes, below.)

  • Percentage: A minimum guaranteed price paid to the publisher, plus additional revenue based on the ad network's percentage margin. If you select this option, you need to enter a publisher minimum price in USD with two decimal points of precision, and the ad network percentage margin of the clear price.

Publishers

Use the Publishers list to limit access to your package. Click Create rule to create a publishers access rule. (See Targeting for details on how to create targeting rules.) Once you have selected one or more publishers to include, only those publishers will see the package offered for opt-in. (Alternatively, if you create a rule to exclude selected publishers, all other publishers will see the package offered for opt-in.)

If you do not create a publishers targeting rule it means all of your publishers have access to the package.

Targeting

TAP Programmatic targeting works the same way as TAP flight targeting, although there are more options available for flight targeting.

Currency Notes

The default currency for deals, packages, and open marketplace rules is USD (United States dollars), but you have the option to specify a different currency when setting floor prices. This is useful when transacting with buyers who operate in currencies other than USD.

When you select a currency other than USD, all auctions and transactions are still executed in USD. TAP Programmatic converts floor prices on-the-fly during the bidding process using the daily exchange rate. This reduces the risk of bid rejections caused when exchange rate volatility pushes bids below the floor price. Invoicing and payments remain unchanged.

The floor currency can be changed at any time for deals and open marketplaces.

However:

  • You cannot change the currency of an Ad Network package's when its status is Active.

  • Ad Network deals must use the same currency as the packages they are tied to.

Copying a Package

You can create a package by copying an existing package and then editing the details.

  • A copied package uses the same name as the original package, but appended with “(copy).” You can edit the name before saving the new package.

  • The copied package includes the same publishers and targeting rules as the original package. These can be edited before saving the new package.

Editing Packages

  • Active packages: you can only edit the package name and publishers targeting rule.

  • Draft packages: you can edit all aspects of the package.

To edit a package, click the package in the packages list to open the package page. Alternatively, select Edit package from the package’s Options menu in the packages list.

Make the changes on the package page, then click Save package.

If you edit the publisher targeting rule of an active package such that a publisher who has opted-in no longer has access to the package, that publisher will be opted-out and they will no longer see the package in their list of available packages.

Viewing Opted-in and Deals Information

You can see a list of publishers who are opted-in to a package, and the deals linked, by going to the package page and selecting the Publishers opted-in or Deals linked tab.

Archiving a Package

To archive a package, select Archive package from the package’s Options menu in the packages list. the file icon in the Action column.

There is no confirmation step when you archive a package! There is no "undo!"

Once a package is archived, it is removed from all deals and it cannot be restored. Also, publishers who have opted-in to the package are not notified that the package has been removed from your offerings.
