Contracts for Resellers
Creating a Contract
Only Resellers can create contracts.
To create a contract:
On the Contracts page, My Contracts tab, click +New contract.
Enter the necessary information in the New contract form that appears.
Give the contract a name. Tip: use a name that will be easy to identify in the Contracts list.
Select the Inventory owner from the drop-down list. You can select only one Owner per contract.
Enter a date range for the contract. The start date cannot be earlier than today. End date is optional.
Enter the pricing CPM.
(Optional) Select Create as draft. See "Draft Contracts" below for details.
Click Create contract.
Once the contract is saved, its status is Active unless you selected "Create as draft" before saving. However, an active contract will not deliver until the owner creates a corresponding Reseller Advertiser, and creates a campaign and flight using that Reseller Advertiser.
Draft Contracts
When a contract is saved as a draft:
It will not be visible to the Inventory Owner until the status is changed to Active.
It cannot be used within a flight until the status is changed to Active.
It can be modified as long as its status is Draft.
Editing a Contract
To edit a contract, select the contract in the contracts list (or select Edit contract from the options menu on the right).
If the contract is active, you cannot change the CPM.
You can change the contract name.
You can change the end date, and you can change the start date if the contract has not yet started.
If the contract is a draft, you can change any aspect of the contract.
VAST Tag
If the contract is with an external Owner, the VAST tag to be used for reselling appears at the bottom of the contract page once the contract is created. The Reseller must copy this VAST tag, edit the position
macro, and send the VAST tag to the external Owner.
Copying and Editing the VAST tag
The Reseller must edit the position
macro before sending it to the external Owner. Failure to do so will return an error. The objective is to populate the position
macro with the actual position you wish to target with the VAST tag.
To copy the VAST tag, simply click Copy to clipboard.
To edit the position
macro in the VAST tag:
After copying the VAST tag to the clipboard, paste it into a plain text editor.
Locate the
position
macro:&position=${position}
Change
${position}
to one of the three possible positions that can be targeted:preroll =
&position=preroll
midroll =
&position=midroll
postroll =
&position=postroll
You can now send the VAST tag to your external publisher Owner.
If you want to target two or more positions, you need to send a separate VAST tag for each position.
Archiving a Contract
To archive a contract, select Archive contract from the contract's Options menu.
If you archive a contract before its end date, the all campaigns targeting the contract stop delivering.
To see your archived contracts, select All in the My contracts list's quick filters.
To re-activate an archived contract, find it in the My contracts list, edit the contract, and select Active from the Status menu.
Contracts for Inventory Owners
If you are an Inventory Owner, you will see a tab on the My contracts page for Contracts on my inventory.
The Contracts on my inventory list shows the active and archived contracts that resellers have made for your inventory. To view a contract, click it in the list (or select View contract from the options menu). This list functions the same way and has the same features as other module lists in the TAP user interface.
Contract Usage Notes
When a Reseller creates a contract with an Owner, the Owner is not explicitly notified. However the contract appears on the Owner's contracts.
As a best practice, we recommend you notify the Owner when you are setting up a contract with them.
Important! Reseller forecasting on a new contract will not be accurate until 28 days after the contract activation date, as the forecasting engine requires 28 days of aggregated data.
