Reach Extension Contract Negotiations

Prev Next
This feature is only available to publishers and resellers using the optional Reach Extension feature.

During reach extension contract negotiations, the Owner and Reseller should deliberate on inventory levels, delivery terms, and other contractual obligations.

If the reseller sets their flight parameters outside the Owner’s allocated inventory settings, the Reseller flight will not deliver.

Delivery Method

How the ad requests are made on the Owner’s inventory.

  • Live (stations)

  • Podcast

  • OnDemand

Position

  • Pre-rolls

  • Mid-rolls

  • Post-rolls (only available for podcasts)

  • Combination

Priority

  • Owner’s allocated inventory set to allow the Reseller’s flights to compete with the Owner’s own direct flights. (This is recommended if the Reseller is selling inventory and Owner is not.)

  • Owner’s allocated inventory set to have the Reseller deliver at a bulk priority. (This is common if the Reseller is selling the Owner’s remnant inventory.)

Targeting

The Reseller will create a contract for each type of content, so the Owner can allocate inventory accordingly.

  • Content:

    • RON (run-of-Network)

    • Standalone station/podcast

    • Categories (grouping via station tags)

    • Markets

  • Listener:

    • Geolocation

    • Player

    • Audience (via DMP)

  • Time

    • Days of the week

    • Time of day

Time frame

  • Specific time frame: start and end date of the contract.

  • Indefinite period: start date is needed, but end date is optional.

Impression goal

  • Specific amount of impressions: the owner will need to pull a forecast based on the agreed targeting (see above) before committing to an impression goal.

  • Open inventory: no specific goal defined; the Reseller will sell what they need.

Restrictions on Owner side

  • Industry separation rules:

    • In Triton Settings: what are the rules set on the Owner’s inventory in terms of Industry separation per ad break? (This should include the advertiser’s rule.)

  • Ad quality rules:

    • In TAP settings: are there any IAB categories blocked from running on any of the Owner’s inventory?

  • Podcast exclusivity rules:

    • In TAP settings: are there any IAB categories blocked from running on any of the Owner’s podcasts, and during the time period of the contract?

Rate

  • CPM rate: how much will the Reseller pay the Owner for each impression delivered on the Owner’s inventory?
