There are various status states that can be applied to campaigns, flights, advertisers, etc. There is also flight delivery status, which only applies to flights.

Status

Status refers to the state of the item's configuration. The status changes automatically as the configuration changes, such as when the delivery start date arrives. You can manually change the status of an item from the item's overview sidebar or by using the Change status icon in the modules list.

The image below shows an example of the Flight status in the Flight overview sidebar.

The status types available, and their definitions, depend on the type of item (flight, campaign, advertiser, etc.). For flights, remember that there is also flight delivery status.

Status

Description

Draft

• Flights

• Campaigns

"Draft" status means the item is not yet active/approved.

Note that Draft flights do not reserve inventory. Only active and paused flights reserve inventory.

Active

• Flights

• Advertisers

An active flight is eligible for delivery within its defined date range, and as long as the campaign it is linked to is approved and active, and the advertiser is active. Remember that for a flight to deliver, it needs more than just Flight Active status; the campaign, advertiser, and dates must all be set correctly as well.

Approved

• Campaigns

Declined

• Campaigns

Paused

• Flights

Paused flights do not deliver impressions, but they do reserve inventory.

Inactive

• Advertisers

You cannot create a new flight on an inactive advertiser. When you make an advertiser inactive, any campaigns assigned to the advertiser also become inactive.

Done

• Flights

• Campaigns

"Done" means the flight has expired (reached its end date) and has finished delivering,  In the case of campaigns, "Done" means all flights in the campaign have expired and have finished delivering. You cannot select "Done" as a status; it is applied by TAP when the flights expire. For more information, see “Done” Status Notes below.

Archived

• Flights

• Campaigns

• Advertisers

• Prog. Deals

• Teams

• Rules

See Archiving.

“Done” Status Notes

  • You cannot edit or re-activate a flight or campaign that has Done status. You can, however, copy the item. You can also archive a Done flight or campaign.

  • Flight status is set to “Done” two UTC days after the flight end-date. This allows time for the flight to deliver to its end-date in all time zones. During that time, the flight might still deliver to stations in time zones where the local time has not yet reached the end-date. For example:

    • A flight’s end-date is December 1. Flight start- and end-dates are based on UTC, so the flight ends at 23:59 UTC on December 1.

    • At 02:15 UTC December 2:

      • The local time in London (UK) is 03:14 December 2. This is past the flight’s end-date for stations in that location, so the flight will not deliver to listeners connected to stations based in London.

      • The local time in New York (USA) is 22:15 December 1. This is not past the flight’s end-date for stations in that location, so the flight can deliver to listeners connected to stations based in New York.

Flight Delivery Status

Flight delivery status refers to the readiness of TAP to start delivering the flight. Flight delivery status doesn't necessarily correspond to flight status. For example, if a flight's delivery status is pending, and you then archive the flight, the archived flight's status is Archived, but its delivery status remains as Pending.

A flight's start date can only be changed when the flight's delivery status is "Pending."

Flight delivery status types:

Delivery Status

Description

Pending

The flight is not ready to deliver. Typically, this means creative is missing or the start date has not yet arrived.

Ready

The flight can deliver; it is fully configured and the flight start date has arrived. The flight may or may not actually be delivering (e.g., there could be a problem preventing delivery).

On hold

Temporary status applied when a flight that was "Ready" is no longer ready, such as if its creative has been deleted.

Inactive

The advertiser has been de-activated ("inactive" status). If the advertiser is re-activated, its inactive flights will also be reactivated.

Done

The flight has finished delivering. Typically this means it has reached its delivery goal. Note that flight status "Done" does not necessarily correspond to flight delivery status "Done." For example, if the flight reaches its end date without achieving its goal, the flight status will be "Done" but the flight delivery status will still be "Ready," indicating you can extend the flight's date range and continue delivery.
