Replace Clip Metadata

When uploading a new media file or replacing a clip’s file, you can choose which metadata from the media to replace the clip’s details. You can do this when the uploaded media file has ID3 metadata.

When they’re available, Omny Studio lets you choose to import these ID3 metadata fields:

  • Clip title: ID3 title

  • Clip description: ID3 comments

  • Clip link URL: ID3 URL

  • Clip artwork: ID3 artwork

  • Clip chapters: MP3 ID3 chapters or Adobe Audition XMP cue-points

  1. In Uploads, select the Replace clip metadata icon.

  2. In Replace clip metadata, check the details in the clip you want to update with the new media file’s metadata.

  3. To save your changes, select Update metadata.

Replacing Media for a Published Clip

You can safely replace a published clip’s media without affecting analytics or the clip’s status in podcast players. Omny Studio will continue to collect analytics for downloads and other metrics for the clip. The status of the clip will not change in most podcast player platforms.

When replacing the media in a clip that has been published in a program’s playlist, Omny Studio preserves the clip’s ID. This appears in the published RSS feed in the <guid> element.
