Exporting Triton Metrics Reports

Prev Next

Most of the products within Triton Metrics can export their reports to files that are downloaded to your computer. (Some Tap Explore reports can be exported to email.) The export features and formats differ slightly across the various products, but for the most part they work the same way; click the Export button and follow the on-screen prompts. (An exception is the Audience Details export, which works differently from the others.)

This topic describes the various export features.

Where your report appears depends on how your web browser is set up to handle downloaded files. If you are not presented with a file explorer giving you a choice of where to save the report, then it most likely will go directly to your Downloads folder. If you specified in your browser preferences to put downloads elsewhere, then that is where your report should go. With Tap Explore you have the option of email reports.

Export Formats

Depending on the report being exported, the following formats are supported:

  • xlsx. Plain Excel file. After exporting to xlsx, you can apply formulas and create pivot tables in Excel to reveal a full view of delivery performance.

  • Branded xlsx. Excel file that includes the Triton Metrics product name and the Triton Digital logo, as well as information regarding the options and dimensions that were selected.

  • CSV. Comma-separated values plain text file that can be viewed and manipulated in a variety of database or spreadsheet programs.

  • PDF. Portable document format. Note that you cannot apply formulas and pivot tables to PDF export files.

  • SoundExchange. (Royalty Reporting only.) Exports a plain text file that is configured for the official SoundExchange format.* You can also export directly to SoundExchange.

  • PPCA (Australia). (Royalty Reporting only.) Exports an Excel format file that is configured for the official PPCA format.*

* A note in the export dialog box warns you that your selected dimensions are ignored for this kind of export.

Maximum Rows

Depending on the type of report, the maximum number of rows that can be exported is 100,000. With some reports you can enter a custom range of maximum lines, or select from a preset.

Maximum Rows Exceptions

  • For Streaming Realtime, the maximum number of lines exported depends on the report being exported. For example, if you export "Last 8 days" the report will include a maximum of eight lines. Exporting for a specific date will include a maximum of 270 lines.

  • For exports from Lineup Explore, the maximum number of rows to export is distributed across the selected lineups. So if you choose a maximum of 1000 rows, and you have four lineups selected, your exported report would include a maximum of 1000 rows split among the four lineups, so a maximum of 250 rows per lineup. However, not all lineups necessarily have the maximum number of rows. For example, one of the four lineups might only have 200 rows, in which case the export will include only 950 rows (200+250+250+250). The export engine does not dip into surplus rows from the other three lineups in order to reach the maximum.

Tap Explore Email Export

Depending on your Tap Explore query settings, the export is delivered by direct download to your computer, or by email.

Export to email is used when:

  • The query's date range exceeds 60 days,
    and

  • The query is not filtered by Flight ID or Flight Name or Campaign ID or Campaign Name.

The report dialog reflects the type of delivery that will be used for the report.

To export a Tap Explore report for email delivery:

  1. Create your report (date range exceeding 60 days AND is not filtered by Flight ID or Name, or Campaign ID or Name), then click Export in the Report Area.
The Export for Email dialog box appears.

  2. Select the file format for export. (Note: You cannot edit the filename for email delivery reports. Also, branded xlsx is not available for email delivery reports; it will be available with a later release of Tap Explore.)

  3. (Optional) Edit the email address (where the report will be sent). Note: you can only enter one email address!

  4. Click Export.

The report is emailed to the address in the Export dialog. It can take up to 30 minutes for the report to be sent.

Tip: The emailed report is sent from noreply@tritondigital.com. Be sure to allow that address in your email client's spam filter.

Exporting an Audience Details Report

Exporting from Audience Details works somewhat differently from the other products. The Export report window lets you select multiple publishers/groups/stations,

The exported report includes up to 100,000 rows of data.

To export an Audience Details report:

  1. Create your report, then click Export in the Report Area.

  2. (Optional) Edit the selected Publisher/Group/Station for the exported report. You can select multiples, or remove selected ones.

  3. Choose the export type (Excel/.xls or CSV).

  4. (Optional) For Excel exports, select Get all results on a single page if you prefer a report from multiple publishers/groups/stations to appear on the same worksheet. Otherwise, each selected publisher/group/station goes to a separate worksheet.

  5. Click Export.
