Omny Studio supports video content. Most of the features you use to upload, publish, share, and monetize audio podcasts are also available for video podcasts.
Video in Omny Studio is a beta feature. The user interface and other details might change as we get this feature ready for you.
Upload video once and Omny distributes both a video and audio version of your episode as needed. There’s no need need to set up separate podcast metadata or markers for chapters and ads.
Monetization: Use TAP to insert audio ads in your video episodes. Monitor your video podcasts revenue with TAP forecasting and reporting.
Unlock new viewership: Reach new audiences looking for video content.
Increase CPMs: Charge advertisers more for ad placement as video episodes command more attention from listeners.
Enable and Restrict Video Podcasting
Video podcasting is an optional feature. To activate it in Omny Studio, please contact Omny customer support.
After enabling video, networks and programs can include video clips. You can restrict video podcasting to specific networks and programs. This is useful for limiting bandwidth and storage costs.
Go to Organization settings > Feature restrictions.
In Networks, specify which networks may have video content. Checking a network allows all of its programs to use video.
In Programs, specify which programs in all of your networks may have video.
Select Save changes.
Create Clips and Playlists for Video
Create video clips: Upload your media and specify its metadata in a clip.
Add video clips to playlists: A playlist can contain audio clips, video clips, or a mix of both.
Publish Video Podcasts
Manage your RSS feed: Choose how your RSS feeds refer to your video clips for compatibility with podcast directories and platforms.
Publish to Apple Podcasts: Manage how video clips appear in Apple Podcasts.
Publish to Spotify: Manage how video clips appear in Spotify.
Ad Insertion for Video
Just as for audio podcasts, you can insert audio ads into your video podcasts. All players, both Omny Studio and third parties, play audio ads when streaming your video from the Omny Studio PDN. For details on ad insertion, see Advertise on Podcasts in Omny Studio.
The Omny Studio PDN currently doesn’t support video ad insertion.

Omny supports these features for ad insertion in video podcasts:
Targeting by episode ID is not supported.
Also targeting that relies on query parameters, except ttag, are not supported. For details on ttag, see Custom TTag Targeting.
Omny appends a ttag based on the content type of the media being delivered to the user which can be used to target audio or video content in TAP. The ttag is either omny_media_type:audio or omny_media_type:video.
Video ad insertion is only supported in Triton-provisioned organizations.
Impressions are reported as consumed audio ads.
Billing for Video
Because video media needs more storage space than audio media, storage costs can be higher. You can see the Video storage amount for Omny-hosted video media in Organization settings > Plan & billing,
