Realtime Monitoring

Prev Next

You can monitor up to six streaming content assets on the Realtime Monitoring page. Use the Filter to select one or more publishers, groups, or stations. You can mix the asset types; for example you can select one publisher and two stations, or two groups and three stations. You can also save views and easily retrieve them later.

Each asset is represented by two graphs in two columns. The graph in the left column shows Last hour by default. The graph in the right column shows Last 24 hours by default. Both columns can be customized using the session selector to show either Last hour, Last 24 hours, Custom hour, or a Custom date.

To monitor streaming content assets:

  1. On the Realtime Monitoring page, click Filters to select the assets you wish to monitor.

  2. On the Content Filter, select up to six publisher, groups, or stations. You can mix selections, such as selecting a group and a station.

  3. Click Apply, or Apply and Run to run the report immediately.

  4. Optional: change the data sessions for the left and/or right graphs.

Viewing the Monitoring Graphs

Once you run the report, the monitoring graphs appear in two columns. The graphs automatically refresh every five minutes. A countdown timer shows you how much time is left before the next refresh.

Listener/Differential/Granularity Views

By default, the graphs are set to Listener view. You can switch to Differential view or Granularity view.

  • Listener view: shows the number of listeners across the selected time range.

  • Differential view: shows a bar graph indicating the difference between each unit of time.

  • Granularity view: shows per-mount listener data for stations. If the station has only one mount, the view is the same as for Listener view. This view is only applicable to "station" graphs; "publisher" and "group" graphs show Listener view when Granularity view is selected.

The view selection applies to the column where you make the selection (i.e., all graphics in the column are shown in the selected view). The left and right column views are independent of each other.

Expanded Graphs

Click the Expand icon on any graph to see an expanded (enlarged) view of that graph. Click the Collapse icon to return to the normal report view.

Minute and Hour Data

Scroll your cursor over a graph to see a tooltip showing precise per-minute (for hourly) or per-5-minute (for daily) data.

Saving and Retrieving Views

Once you have set up a report with the various assets and views that you like, you can save that view and retrieve it at a later time.

To save a new view:

  1. Set up the report in the way that you want to see it again later; select the assets, set up the column views, and select the data sessions.
  2. From the Options menu, select Save. If the Save items does not appear on the Options menu it means you are already viewing a saved view. Click Reset on the Options menu to clear the saved view and try again.
  3. Give your view a name. Tip: keep the name short and descriptive in order to make it easy to find in the saved views selector. Names do not have to be unique.
  4. Click Save.

To retrieve a previously saved view

To retrieve a saved view at a later time, simply load it from the Views menu at the top of the Realtime Monitoring page.

Once a saved view is loaded, you can use the Options menu to update, rename, or delete the view.

  • To update the view, make whatever changes you wish, then select Update from the Options menu. The saved view is updated to include the changes.
  • To rename the view, select Rename from the Options menu and enter a new name for the view.
  • To delete a view, load it and then select Delete from the Options menu.

Exporting a Realtime Monitoring Graph
