DMP Settings

Prev Next

You can activate an external Data Management Platform (DMP) with TAP for targeting and forecasting. If you use an external DMP other than TruAudience, you need to provide your DMP account information to connect it to TAP.

Only users with both the Triton Broadcast Administrator and TAP Organization Administrator roles may activate a DMP.

Privacy Note

By activating an external DMP, you, on behalf of your organization, confirm that you have entered into a valid services agreement with the selected external DMP(s) for the provision of DMP services and you further acknowledge and agree that (i) the data you make available to Triton Digital through TAP and TAP Programmatic, which may include personal information, may be made available to the external DMP(s) and that such external DMP(s) may make additional data available to Triton Digital; and (ii) you may incur additional fees with such external DMP(s). Please make sure your privacy policy is updated to reflect your use of one or more external DMPs.

Connect to an External DMP

It can take up to 48 hours before the connected DMP's segments appear in TAP.

  1. Contact Triton with details about the DMP you’d like to add. Triton will provide you with a service order (S/O).

  2. Sign the S/O and return it to Triton.

  3. Once the DMP is activated in TAP, if applicable, go to TAP > TAP Settings > Publisher > DMP.

  4. Expand the DMP you want to connect to.

  5. Enter the credentials that your DMP provided to you.

  6. Select Save.

DMP Notes

  • You use your external DMP to create DMP segments, outside of the TAP platform.

  • External DMP segments usually (but not always) consist of data created from your own inventory, and can also include offline data compiled from the DMP.

  • TAP only receives a list of user IDs in an external DMP audience segment, and doesn't analyze the contents of the list. The DMP – not Triton Digital – is responsible for analyzing the contents of the segment and determining its cost.

  • With external DMP segments you can target by segment ID and run reports by segment ID in TAP.

  • Forecasting by external DMP segment might not be possible; if segments used to target are different each time and built on-the-fly then not enough data will accumulate to allow Triton's forecasting tool to make forecasting predictions. However, estimated reach can be found in the DMP.
