This article provides instructions on how to set the Visibility Status in the publishing section of your clip details page. It explains the differences between current and future scheduling of visibility status, and details how publish dates work and when to use them.
The Clips Visibility Status feature in Omny Studio lets you manage who can access your clips. The different status levels are explained here. (Click to expand.)
Private = Not Publicly visible or accessible, cannot be added to the playlist, but can be scheudled.
Restricted = Only in RSS feeds of playlists using Omny’s restricted acess for Apple podcast subscriptions.
Unlisted = Not publicly viewable or indexed by search engines, but shareable via Omny FM link, embeddable, and appears in RSS feeds if in a playlist.
Public = Accessible via Omny FM link, indexed by search engines, embeddable, amd appears in RSS feeds if in a playlist.
Applying the visibility setting immediately
To immediately apply a visibility setting, follow these steps:
Locate the Current visibility option.
Use the left-hand selector to choose the desired state.
3. To apply these settings immediately, save your changes.
Scheduling a visibility status change
You can, for example, schedule a visibility change to transition a clip from a restricted state (accessible only to premium users) to a public state (accessible to everyone). This flexibility allows you to tailor the visibility settings to your operational needs.
To change a clip’s visibility status at a future date, follow these steps:
1. Go to the Schedule Visibility Change section and click the Add scheduled change button.
2. Use the left-hand selector to choose the status you want the clip to automatically transition to.
3. Choose the date and time for the scheduled transition to happen.
4. If you want to update the publish date do that by ticking the “Update published date” box.
5. To apply these settings, save your changes.
To Edit or Delete a Schedule
To edit or delete a schedule, use the Options menu (three dots) and select your preferred option.
