Why Doesn't a Clip Appear in Podcast Apps?

If you've published a clip and it's not appearing where it's meant to, check here first.

Publishing Delay

After you've added a clip to a published playlist in Omny, it's only natural that you'd want your audience to see it on their podcast platform as soon as possible. While Omny writes the changes you make to your RSS feed immediately, podcast platforms take time to show new episodes or other updates.

This is because these platforms check your RSS feed on a scheduled basis. Each of these services operate different refresh schedules that are outside of Omny Studio’s control. Some podcast platforms let you manually refresh an RSS feed. For details, see the documentation at the podcast platform.

The Clip is not in a Playlist

Each playlist in Omny Studio has its own RSS feed. This means that only the clips that you add to a playlist will appear in podcast apps for which you have submitted the playlist’s RSS feed.

When you upload a new episode to Omny Studio, make sure it’s added to the right Playlist and thus to the RSS feed. There are a couple of ways you can do this:

Clip Visibility is Private

A clip with Private visibility means that only other Omny users can access it. To publish a clip, you must set its visibility to Public, Unlisted, or Restricted. For details, see Set and Schedule Clip Visibility.

RSS Feed Episodes Limit

If you have more than 100 episodes in your Playlist, older episodes past the most recent 100 no longer appear in the RSS feed. For details on managing the size of RSS feeds, see Playlist Feed Size.

If the above reasons do not explain why an episode is not available in podcast apps, please be aware that it takes up to 24 hours for podcast apps to refresh your RSS feed and display a newly published episode.
