Using the Audio Content Library

This guide walks you through the process of searching and exploring your content in the Audio Insights dashboard. Using the query builder, you can construct powerful searches to pinpoint specific shows or episodes.

Building Queries

The Audio Insights dashboard empowers you to create complex queries that include a range of criteria. These queries use a combination of filters and logical operators ("AND," "OR") to narrow down your search results. For instance, you could create a query that identifies all episodes with a "High" brand suitability rating that also mention a specific named entity.

The query builder and filters are found in both the My Shows and My Episodes list pages.

Filter Options

The query builder can be accessed by clicking the “Filters” button on either the My Shows or My Episodes page.  This query builder offers a diverse set of filters to help you refine your searches:

Filters for Shows:

  • Apple Categories: Filter shows based on the Apple Podcast category.

  • Author: Filter shows based on the show author.

  • Episode Count: Filter shows based on the number of episodes.

  • Show Type: Filter shows based on the type (Episodic, Serial, or Episodic Serial).

  • Show Title: Filter shows based on the show title.

Filters for Episodes:

  • Episode Title: Filter episodes by their exact titles.

  • Duration: Filter according to a minimum episode duration using the format HH:MM:SS (hours: minutes: seconds).

  • Publish Date: Filter episodes based on their publication date range.

  • Transcript search terms: Filter episodes based on terms found in the episode transcripts.

Filters for both Shows and Episodes:

  • IAB Category: Leverage the IAB Content Taxonomy to filter shows or episodes that align with specific categories and subcategories, such as "Business & Finance," "Sports," or "Food & Drink."

  • Named Entity: Filter shows or episodes that mention particular people, places, organizations, or products.

  • Brand Suitability: Filter shows or episodes by selecting from various Brand Suitability categories, such as "Adult & Explicit" or "Crime & Harmful Acts," and set the desired risk thresholds (Unrelated, Low, Medium, High, Floor) to identify shows or episodes with specific brand suitability levels.

Adding and Grouping Filters

To construct your query, start by choose the filter logic. Multiple filters will interact with each other based on the logic selected at the top of the query builder.

For example, if “include audio where All are true” is selected, the filters you add will be linked together by “AND” statements. Alternatively, if you select “include audio where Any are true,” then your filters will be linked together by “OR” statements.

Next, click "+Add Filter" and choose a filter from the filter selector. (Filter options are described above.)

Grouping Filters

Each filter can be expanded to have its own grouping logic by selecting the “+” button for that filter. To add another filter within the query that uses the top-level logic, click +Add Filter below the existing filter or filter group.

  1. Click + to create a filter group based on the existing filter; the filter group can use its own filter logic.

  2. Click +Add Filter to add another filter using the top-level filter logic (in this case, “ALL”).

Grouping Example

You might want to search for content that either is classified as IAB content category “Food and Drink” OR (Any) includes all three of the following transcript search terms “Beer,” “Wine,” “Spirits.”

  1. This query filter uses ALL logic between each filter group.

  2. This filter group uses ANY (“or”) logic between each item within the group. I.e., EITHER the named IAB category OR any of the transcript search terms.

  3. Click +Add Filter within the group to add another filter using the group logic (in this case, ANY).

  4. Click +Add Filter outside the group to add another filter using the top-level query filter logic (in this case, ALL).

Understanding Query Results

After executing a query, the Audio Insights dashboard displays the results in a list format, showing the relevant shows or episodes that match your specified criteria. The interface includes additional options, such as sorting the results by criteria like the episode's publication date or the show's name.
