Q&A Webcast Metrics

Office Hours and Webinar Q&A transcripts are lightly edited for clarity and brevity and are presented here for your convenience and to ensure the answers to important questions are shared. Answers are accurate at the time they are transcribed and presented, but due to on-going feature development and continuous improvements, some answers might be out of date when you read them. If there is a conflict between a Q&A answer and the related user guide, the user guide takes precedence.

Below is a selection of questions and answers captured during Webcast Metrics Office Hours sessions and Wednesday Webinars. Newer items are at the top.

Question

Answer

I’m not seeing the Live Analytics section. Why, and how can we change this?

Any publishers sending us Realtime data via the Streaming Metrics - API (Realtime & Audience) will see the Realtime Listening page under Webcast Metrics > Realtime Analytics. Furthermore, publishers who stream via the Triton CDN will also see the Realtime Monitoring and CDN Usage tools.

If this is not the case, please contact your Publisher Development Manager (PDM).

How is a "session" defined?

See the Measurement Methodology section of the Webcast Metrics Description of Methodology.

Does Triton have guides or docs on benchmarks or what is healthy vs. unhealthy in terms of numbers?

Not currently, but we are looking into how to best provide this type of information.

How far back can we get historical data in Webcast Metrics Explore?

You can go very far (a recent test went back seven years). However, the further back you go, the more time it takes to process and the higher the risk of timing out. You also need to consider that your historical data will show rises and drops if you have added or removed stations over time.

I need a very granular report and the dimensions available in Webcast Metrics Explore do not cover my needs.

Reach out to your Publisher Development Manager (PDM) and ask about log exports as a way of achieving more granular reporting.

How accurate is the Realtime data?

Realtime data is accurate, and based on IP address plus User Agent. However, the data only has a basic level of Invalid Traffic removal, as opposed to Total Measurement data which does not need to be cleaned on-the-fly.

When pulling reports, some of the dimensions sometimes show "Unknown" and/or "Unspecified." What do these mean?

  • Unknown = not in the information passed to us by the listeners' profile.

  • Unspecified = data sent is deemed valid but does not fit within a current category or is not fully recognized. (E.g., they could be proprietary names that do not match the industry-standard names.)

When looking at data with hours, what timezone is the data?

At the station level, the data is in the station timezone.

What is the difference between TSL and ATSL?

TSL is based on unique listeners, while ATSL is based on listening time.

In the Rankers, if I see a .76, what is the measure?

Data is hours rendered in decimal, not time format. To get the time, multiply by 60. In this case, .76 hours is 45 minutes.

I am interested in how to connect to GA4.

We have APIs available, as well as log exports. Publisher Development Manager (PDM).

How can I analyze the stickiness of listeners in each program?

Use the Day Part filter to narrow down to the program, then look at metrics like ATSL.

Can I perform historical analysis of audience stickiness?

Yes. Use Audience details or WCM Explore.

Can the reach achieved in each program have duplication of listeners?

Metrics (not denoted by "Gross") represent counts that exclude invalid sessions as per Triton’s Description of Methodology.
