Organization Administrators can grant exclusive access for a podcast to an advertiser with an exclusivity rule. An exclusivity rule does this by specifying an advertiser that has negotiated exclusive access to a podcast for a specific IAB category. All other advertisers may not advertise for that category in that podcast. However, advertisers from other categories can also play ads in the same podcast. To use exclusivity rules for full exclusivity, see Using Exclusivity Rules for 100% SOV Campaigns.
Exclusivity rules apply to both direct and programmatic ads.
Use exclusivity rules with caution. They can affect delivery of advertising campaigns.

Example
To allow Blork Language School to be the only language school to advertise on your podcast, you create an exclusivity rule that specifies IAB5-8 (Language Learning) and Blork Language School as the exclusive advertiser. When you target your podcast in the rule, Blork Language School is the only IAB5-8 category advertiser that will play in the downloaded podcast. This rule does not prevent ads from other categories, such as ads for restaurants or dental care, from playing.
Exclusivity Rules Targeting
Exclusivity rules can only target podcasts. Exclusivity applies on a per break basis. Podcast exclusivity per download is only guaranteed for podcasts managed by Omny Studio.
You can target multiple podcasts with a single exclusivity rule. And you can target a single podcast with multiple exclusivity rules, where each rule specifies different advertisers and categories.
Multiple Categories
You can specify multiple IAB categories in an exclusivity rule. The advertiser has exclusive access to all of these categories.
Adding a Tier-1 IAB category, such as “IAB1: Arts & Entertainment”, does not include its subcategories. To include the subcategories, you must add them too.
Multiple Advertisers
You can specify multiple advertisers so that only one is selected for exclusive access to a category and podcast. To do this, create a single exclusivity rule for all of these advertisers. During ad selection, Triton grants exclusive access to the advertiser of the first flight that it selects. All other advertisers in the exclusivity rule do not have access to the rule’s categories.
For example after negotiating exclusive access with Drinx Cola and Docco Juice, you create a single exclusivity rule that specifies both of them as advertisers in the Non-Alcoholic Beverages category for the Blork News podcast. During ad selection, Triton grants access to only one of these advertisers.
Do not create separate exclusivity rules for each advertiser for the same IAB category and podcast. When multiple exclusivity rules specify different advertisers for the same category and podcast, TAP discards ads from all of these advertisers. For example, if you create a rule for Drinx Cola for Non-Alcoholic Beverages in the Blork News podcast and another rule for Docco Juice, then Triton discards ads from both of these advertisers.
