Feeds

Use Settings > Common Assets > Feeds to create and manage the details about the RSS feeds for the podcasts that you manage in Podcasts. For podcasts hosted on Omny Studio, you do not have to manage details their RSS feeds. Omny Studio does this for you automatically.

This is a beta feature

This feature is not available to all Triton Digital clients. Also, it might change while we get it ready for you.

Create a Feed

You can specify details about your podcast’s RSS feeds so that other Triton applications can refer to them. There is no need to specify details about the feeds from podcasts hosted by Omny Studio, Omny Studio does this for you.

Steps to specify details for a podcast's RSS feed

  1. Go to Settings > Common Assets > Feeds.

  2. Select + New Feed.

  3. Enter details about the RSS feed. See Feed Settings.

  4. Select Create feed.

Feed Settings

Basic

  • Podcast: The podcast that this feed belongs to.

  • Name: A unique name for the feed. You may only use letters, numbers, and underscores. No spaces or special characters are allowed.

  • Display name: The name to show for reporting and content targeting.

  • Status: Check Enable to make the feed active.

Settings

  • Feed URL: The URL for the RSS feed that podcast platforms and apps use.  If you change this value, you must also create new advertising episode overrides.

  • ID Generation Config: How Triton generates a unique episode ID from your podcast feed so that it matches listening data. For details, please contact your Triton Customer Success Manager (CSM).

  • PDN Special Adapter: Check when this feed is managed through a special integration with the Triton Podcast Delivery Network (PDN). Triton automatically reads and ingests the podcast RSS feed, prepares it for delivery through the PDN, and supports PDN delivery and ad insertion workflows. You can also override advertising for specific episodes. This is an optional, contracted service from Triton. For details, please contact your Triton Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Enable and Disable Feeds

You can control whether or not feeds are available in a podcast.

  • Enable a feed to make it available for reporting and content targeting.

  • Disable a feed to hide it from reporting and content targeting.

Override Advertising For Specific Episodes

You can override a podcast’s Advertising settings for individual episodes in a feed. This is useful for finer monetization control, like demonetizing an episode or assigning a different ad configuration than the default from the podcast.

If you change Feed URL, you need to also create new overrides

Episode advertising overrides refers to GUIDs (globally unique identifiers) in the feed’s RSS. If you change Feed URL, your existing overrides will be deleted because the GUIDs that they refer to are no longer valid.

Before using this feature:

  • Your feed must have PDN Special Adapter checked in its Feed settings.

  • Your feed’s podcast must have Advertising checked in its Podcast settings.

Steps to manage episode advertising overrides

  1. In Settings > Common Assets > Podcasts, find the podcast that has the episodes you want.

  2. In the podcast, expand Advertising Settings and select Manage Overrides.

  3. To create an override, select + Add new override.

  4. To delete an override, select its X icon.

  5. To save your new overrides, select Add overrides.

Edit, Delete, and See Audit Logs for Feeds
