Client
In the Required Functionalities section, "Client" refers to the customer of Triton Digital's services. That means you, if you are a customer.
CMS
Media Encoder
The Media Encoder controls the encoding and streaming from your computer to the Triton Digital Network.
Media Injector
The Media Injector inserts ads or other replacement content into your media stream by temporarily interrupting the feed from the broadcast point and injecting an alternative feed from the Media Injector database. Media Injector is configured by Triton Digital Solutions Specialists after consulting with your station to determine your needs and what you want to achieve. Once it is running, most of the Media Injector work happens behind the scenes with little need for manual intervention.
Mount/mount point
The mount is where your stream is configured in the Triton Digital streaming network. It determines the stream's codec, bitrate, and other format options. A station can have more than one mount; for example it can have an MP3 mount to output an MP3 stream and an AAC mount to output an AAC stream.
A mount point is a specific connection on the server where you connect to the mount. The mount point is determined by the provisioning system.
Service Provider
In the Required Functionalities section, "Service Provider" refers to Triton Digital.
Station
A station is a representation on a Triton Digital server that consists of parameters for encoding and handling metadata. It provides the link from your media stream to the Triton Digital streaming network. A station is composed of one or more mounts.
Station Manager
Station Manager from Triton Digital lets you set up, control, and monitor media encoding and streaming from the source (a live radio broadcast or web radio stream) to the Triton Digital Streaming Network. The Triton Digital Streaming Network then streams your media, via the internet, to consumers around the world.
Station Manager is composed of a server that works with the Triton Digital Streaming Network to encode and stream your media, and a client component with a graphical user interface (GUI) that you use to monitor and manage the streaming process. Minimum hardware requirements and recommended configuration for Station Manager are described in Station Manager Technical Requirements.
RAS (Radio Automation System)
A RAS (Radio Automation System) uses broadcast programming technology to automate radio broadcast operations, such as inserting ad breaks and other cue points.
SOC (System on a Chip)
A SOC is an integrated circuit that integrates all components of a computer or other electronic system into a single chip. While SOC systems are powerful enough to run mobile devices and some consumer-grade PCs, they are generally not powerful enough to reliably run professional grade applications such as are used for streaming audio.
