IF YOU HAVE AN AD SYSTEM ACTIVE, PLEASE ENSURE THAT IT'S TURNED OFF BEFORE RUNNING YOUR IMPORT - OR IMPORT THE AD-FREE VERSION OF THE RSS FEED.
Notes:
Whenever you are redirecting/importing an RSS feed, your historical analytics will not be available in the new program. Please download your historical analytics to CSV to maintain an archive.
If you have an RSS pagesize limit in place but your podcast feed has a greater number of episodes, please reach out to Support.
To move a show between Omny Studio organizations, follow these steps:
1.To switch between organizations, hover over the organization name here:
Download data will be lost.
This is similar to migrating to a new host, and all historical download data and transcriptions will be lost.
Import your podcast into your new organization using the RSS importer.
If you're using Triton Digital's Podcast Metrics (PCM), link your shows to Podcast Metrics/Ranker (see page 2 of the migration guide for details)
After the import, update any embed players on your website with the new embed codes to ensure plays are attributed to your new account.
For a quicker option, you can update the slug of the new Omny Studio program to match the old one.
Warning
the 'changing the slug' method is optional and will temporarily break all of your existing embeds and permanently break any omny.fm posts you've made to social media. If you're ok with that then read on otherwise you will need to manually replace all of the embed code.
Copy the slug from your original program.
Rename the slug in the original program (the one you're migrating from) by adding a few numbers at the end, then click Save.
Switch to your new organization, paste the original program's slug into the new program (exactly as it was), and click Save.All of your embed players will now be attributed to the new program analytics
Once that's done (or if you didn't use the Omny embed player) you can re-direct your original feed to your new feed by pasting your new RSS feed at playlist details- advanced settings - redirect to URL in your original organization:
While you're there, make sure that this box is UN-ticked and click save.
Finally, ensure the "Moved podcast to Omny Studio" box is checked in your new program under Playlist Details > Advanced Settings, then click Save.
You are done!
Please note:
Spotify behaves differently from other podcast apps and won’t start downloading from your new RSS feed for old episodes until the original episodes are removed.
You’ll continue to see downloads of old episodes in your original account until those episodes are deleted.
Wait at least one week after setting up the redirect before deleting your old program/account to ensure all subscribers are moved.
