Creating a Feed Drop

Prev Next

Feed Drops enable the sharing of a clip/episode and its supporting metadata from one program to another, with capabilities to modify the clip’s title, description, publish date, season, episode number, and schedule its release date. This feature is particularly useful for cross-promoting podcast shows or clips within a network. For instance, if a short podcast series is concluding, you can use Feed Drops to release a teaser episode from a new series, guiding listeners to your upcoming program.

To set up a Feed Drop on your network, follow the steps described below.

Permission Required

To execute a Feed Drop, users must have content permissions for both the origin and destination programs. For more information on permission settings in Omny Studio, please refer to our help document.

1. Select the clip that you want to drop into another programs playlist, and ensure the clips visibility status is not set to private.

2. Head to the clip details page and select the “Feed drops” tab. Listed here will be any previously created Feed Drops and their status. Select the “Create Feed Drop button” to create a new feed drop.

Notes:

  • A shared clip only will only appear in the Clips/Episodes list of the program it has been shared from.

  • At clip-level, download analytics of a shared clip will show downloads across all the playlists it is available from.

  • At program-level, download analytics will include all downloads of that shared clip across all playlists it is available from.
