Tutorial: Bulk editing in Tap (Duration: 4:29)

This video shows an earlier version of New TAP. The general principles discussed remain the same, but some features and UI elements might have changed.

Bulk editing lets you perform tasks such as changing flight status or archiving campaigns to two or more items with a single action. Bulk editing is available on most list screens, such as the lists of advertisers, campaigns, and flights. When you select multiple items in the list, the Bulk edit items appear at the bottom of the screen, from which you can select the action to apply to the selected items.

The bulk editing option is greyed-out if your user role does not allow bulk editing.

Examples of how bulk editing can be used include:

  • Setting a group of advertisers to "Inactive" status.
  • Changing the currency or IAB categories of a group of advertisers.
  • Approving or declining a group of campaigns.
  • Changing the account executive or trafficker assigned to a group of campaigns (see detailed example of this below).
  • Pausing a group of flights.
  • Changing the delivery method, pacing, priority, or position of a group of flights.
  • You can also bulk add users.

Example: Reassign the Trafficker for a Group of Campaigns

Bulk editing can be a very efficient way to accomplish a tedious task with just a few clicks. It is particularly effective when combined with filtering as a way to locate the items you want to bulk edit. In the example below, a trafficker, Fred Docco, has won the lottery and quit his job, and your task is to assign all of his campaigns to another trafficker, Beyonce MacGuffin.

To assign Fred Docco's campaigns to Beyonce MacGuffin:

  1. In the campaigns list, filter the campaigns to show Not archived (since you cannot change the trafficker on an archived campaign) and only show the campaigns assigned to Fred Docco.
Important! if you get more results than can appear on one page, change the Items per page limit to a number that lets you see all of your results on the same page. Otherwise, you can only select the number of visible items for bulk editing, not the full list of items that match your filtering criteria.
  2. Select all items in the filtered list that appears.
  3. At the bottom of the page, select Bulk edit campaigns > Trafficked by.
  4. Select Beyonce MacGuffin in the trafficker's list, and click Bulk edit.
Result: all of Fred Docco's campaigns are assigned to Beyonce MacGuffin.
