Timeshift Radio is currently in limited release to selected publishers.
Timeshift Radio allows a listener to scrub forward and backward through the past few hours of audio (the Timeshift Radio window). This is made possible via a specific HLS playlist URL that lists the recent hours of audio in the .m3u8 playlist file. The audio chunks are saved and served from AWS Cloudfront. The player can then include the following functionalities to move around in those hours of audio:
Pause/Resume
Slider
Rewind/Forward
Skip
Go back to live
Go back to the beginning of the show (program anchoring)
Notes:
HLS adaptive bitrate is not supported in Timeshift Radio mode.
Timeshift Radio supports ad replacement. However, ad replacement only occurs from the point in time when the listener initiated the rewind. For example, if the listener connects at 9:05AM and listens for ten minutes (until 9:15) then rewindsto the beginning of the show at 9:00AM, they will receive simulcast ads in the first 15 minutes of their Timeshift listening and ad replacement will begin at the point in the show when they had initiated the rewind.
By default, the Timeshift Radio window limit is three hours. Contact Customer Support to change to a shorter or longer Timeshift Radio window.
"Now Playing" is not supported in Timeshift mode.
The Triton Digital v4 player, apps, and widget do not yet support Timeshift Radio.
You can try a demo of Timeshift Radio that was built with the Triton Web Player SDK here. Use "TIMESHIFT" as the Timeshift Station for a general demo. If you are already set up on Timeshift, enter the Timeshift station name that was provided to you by Triton Digital.
