Set up Live Recordings

Prev Next

You can automatically record live audio segments from your radio station with an Omny Studio recording agent. These live recordings can then be manually or automatically published for on-demand distribution. You can see live recordings in progress in a program’s Recordings.

A recording agent can automatically start and stop recordings from cue points in your audio segments. This is further explained in this PDF.

Choose a Recording Agent

There are two types of recording agent:

  • On-premises in your studio

  • Live stream

  • Requires Windows environment with local disk storage.

  • More complex set-up and configuration.

Live stream

  • Very easy to set up and no maintenance.

  • Record mixed stream with all audio tracks.

  • Requires accurate metadata timestamps for precise start/stops.

Monitor Recording Storage

You can see how much storage your recordings use.

And you can get email notifications when your recordings exceed an amount of storage that you specify. Email notifications are sent once/month.

This feature is available only to organizations with billing managed by Triton Digital.

  1. Go to Organization Settings > Live Recording > Recording storage usage.

  2. See how much storage your recordings currently use.

  3. To get notified when storage exceeds a limit:

    • Enable Send email notification when usage exceeds specified notification limit.

    • Fill in Notification Limit. When your actual storage exceeds this amount, Omny Studio will notify you by email.

    • Enter the email addresses to notify.

    • Select Save changes.
