Reporting and Content Access

Prev Next

A user's content access can affect the reporting data that is available to them in TAP Explore, TAP Dashboard, affidavits, and forecasting.

In brief, all content access users will be able to see forecasting and reporting data for all stations and podcasts, but limited content access users will see forecasting and reporting data based on their access. As a result, the data in any given report might change according to who runs the report, as one user might have access to more (or different) stations than another user. The report data reflects the data for stations/podcasts each user has access to.

For example, in the illustration below, TEAM A is composed of users Julie and Fred.

  • Julie has content access (CAC) to both Station 1 and Station 2.
  • Fred has content access (CAC) to Station 1 but does not have access to Station 2.

  • If Julie runs a publisher-wide report in Forecasting or Tap Reports (Dashboard, Explore, Affidavits), the report will show data for both Station 1 and Station 2.
  • If Fred runs the same report, the report will only show data for Station 1.
  • If Julie runs a per-station/podcast report in Forecasting or Tap Reports (Dashboard, Explore, Affidavits), she will be able to select either Station 1, or Station 2, or both in the station filter.
  • If Fred runs a per-station/podcast report, he will only be able to select Station 1 in the station filter.
There are some exceptions to the above rule, as explained in the tables below. Also be aware that publisher-wide reports do not indicate which stations/podcasts are supplying the data (unless you apply the "Station" dimension, which is available for some reports). Finally, Team access can also affect what appears in reports.

The assumption is that the user understands that the data in their report is sourced only from the stations/podcasts and teams they have access to.

For information on how the above scenario relates to targeting, see Content Targeting and Content Access. For information on how Team membership affects reporting, see Teams and Reporting.

TAP Reports (Dashboard, Explore, Affidavits) and Forecasting

The first table below outlines the reporting effects of content access control (CAC) and campaign team association on TAP Reports. The second table outlines the effects on Forecasting.

TAP Reports:

Type of Access

Can See

Cannot See

Notes

Organization administrator with all content access.

Can query all stations/podcasts in all contexts.

No restrictions.

Non-admin (e.g., Trafficker) with all content access.

Can query all stations/podcasts in all contexts.

No restrictions.

Non-admin (e.g., Trafficker) with limited content access.

Can query only stations/podcasts the user has access to.

Resulting report only shows data for campaigns that are associated to the team(s) the user belongs to. (See exception in last column.)

Data can include stations/podcasts the user does not have access to. (E.g., user has access to a campaign via team access, but the stations/podcasts that the campaign targets includes ones that the user does not have access to.)

Cannot query stations/podcasts the user does not have access to.

Cannot query campaigns (or flights from campaigns) that are associated to teams the user does not belong to.

Exception: With TAP Explore Sell-Thru Rate reports, only the content access control (CAC) restriction applies; Teams restrictions do not apply.
