# YouTube API (3rd-party)

This feature is currently in limited release to selected publishers. Note that YouTube API Settings are only available to Broadcaster Administrators.

You can connect to a **third-party's YouTube account** to connect that account's usage data to Triton Metrics via the **YouTube API**. This integrates the third-party's YouTube viewing data into your Podcast Metrics reports.

To integrate your own YouTube account's usage data into Triton Metrics, [go here](/user/docs/youtube-api).

Integrating a third-party's YouTube account is a two step process involving both you and your third party contact, as described below.

#### To integrate and link a third-party's YouTube account to Triton Metrics via the YouTube API

**Step 1: Contact the third-party via Triton Settings:**

1. Go to **Settings > Measurement > Youtube API**.
2. Click **+Add YouTube Integration** and select **Add 3rd party integration**.
3. On the**Add 3rd party YouTube Integration** panel that appears, enter the third-party's YouTube account name.
4. Enter the **email address** of your contact at the third-party.
5. Enter a **short message** to the email recipient.
6. Click **Send 3rd party request**.

An email is sent to the third-party recipient from `noreply@tritondigital.com` saying that Triton Digital is requesting YouTube API access on behalf of you (your publisher). It includes the short message you entered above, and a link to a Triton Digital page that describes the integration and provides a link to Google where they can finish the integration (see steps below).

The account appears in the YouTube Integrations page with the status set as **Pending**. You have the option to cancel the request using the **Options** menu, or to edit the account name.

**Step 2: The third-party contact completes the integration by following these steps:**

1. Open the third-party request email.
2. Click `Click here to link your YouTube account` in the received email.
3. On the linked page, make a choice:
  - Click **Sign in with Google** to complete the YouTube API integration.
  - Click **Reject request** to cancel the third-party API integration request. *If the request is canceled, the status in the YouTube Integrations page changes to **Canceled**. (It can take a few minutes for the status to update.)*

**Tip:** The link in the email that the third-party receives **expires after 48 hours**. Be sure to coordinate with your contact at the third party to ensure they will be around to receive and act on the link in a timely manner.
