## The Station Manager Tab

2. The Advanced section shows server logs. Click the up/down arrow button to show or hide the Advanced section.

A station is a representation within Station Manager of your streaming configuration. It coordinates the work of the components in order to stream the media and metadata to the Triton Media Relay.

You should have one station in Station Manager for every different broadcast source you wish to stream. For example, if your broadcast center has a radio station that delivers Top-40 music and another that provides nothing but traffic reports, and you want to stream both, set up two stations in Station Manager. Each station requires a feed that goes into a sound card, and each sound card feeds to a station set up in Station Manager.

If you wish to stream a station in several different encoding formats (MP3, AAC, etc.), you only need one station but you need a separate mount for each encoding format stream.

### Server, Stations, and Mounts

Stations are set up and configured by Triton Digital, and added to Station Manager by you. When you add a station you must enter its name and password exactly as it was set up by Triton Digital. When the station successfully connects to the Triton Digital Network, it begins streaming the media in the configured encoding formats.

## Add a Station

Adding the station forms a link between your Station Manager client and the Triton Digital Network. Once the link is successfully made, the station appears in Station Manager and streaming begins.

Triton Digital provides you with the information you need when adding a station. Typically, you (or someone in your organization) will already have spoken with a Triton Digital Solutions Specialist about the station’s configuration and the encoding formats that are to be used. That discussion provides Triton Digital with the information it needs to create the station on the Triton Digital Network.

1. Log in to [Triton Settings](https://tritondigital.com/client-login), then go to **Settings > Common Assets > Radio Stations**to get the station access key. See [Radio Stations](/user/docs/radio-stations).
2. In the Station Manager application, select the **Station Manager**tab.
3. Select **Add**.
4. In **Add station**, enter the station name (always uppercase). For **Password**, enter the station key. Station keys are case sensitive and must be entered exactly as seen in **Settings > Common Assets > Radio Stations**.
5. Select **OK**.

## Update a Station Password (Key)

A station’s *access key*is called a *password*in Station Manager. When you change a station's access key in **Settings > Common Assets > Radio Stations**, you must also update the station’s password immediately in Station Manager. For details, see [Reset a Station Key](/user/docs/radio-stations#reset-a-station-key).

> [!NOTE]
> Station access keys are case sensitive
>
> You must enter the station key in Station Manager exactly as seen in **Settings > Common Assets > Radio Stations**. See [Radio Stations](/user/docs/radio-stations).

![](https://cdn.document360.io/7124b381-0a94-401a-abbd-9df9c4ea5dff/Images/Documentation/stream-re-authenticate.png)

1. In the Station Manager application, go to the **Station Manager**tab.
2. Right-click the station that you want to re-authenticate and select **Properties**.
3. In **Password**, enter the new station key from **Settings > Common Assets > Radio Stations**.
4. Select **OK**.

## Stop or Start a Station

When a station is running, you can click **Stop** to stop the streaming of that station without stopping other stations that are also running.

To **start** a stopped station, click **Start**.

1. Select **Stop**to stop this station.
2. Select **Start**to restart this station.

## Delete a Station

You will rarely need to delete a station. Doing so removes the connection to the Triton Digital Network and stops streaming of the station.

> [!WARNING]
> You cannot undo a deleted station
>
> You should only delete a station if for some reason you need to rebuild it from scratch, or if directed by Triton Digital Customer Support.

1. In the **Station Manager**tab, select the station you want to delete. (You can multi-select, using the **Shift** or **Ctrl** keys.)
2. Select **Delete**. A confirmation message appears. Note that deleting the station stops its streaming.
3. Click **Yes** in the confirmation message.
