# Video Podcasts

Omny Studio supports video content. Most of the features you use to upload, publish, share, and monetize audio podcasts are also available for video podcasts.

- Upload video once and Omny distributes both a video and audio version of your episode as needed. There’s no need to set up separate podcast metadata or markers for chapters and ads.
- Monetization: Use TAP to insert audio ads in your video episodes. Monitor your video podcasts revenue with TAP forecasting and reporting.
- Unlock new viewership: Reach new audiences looking for video content.
- Increase CPMs: Charge advertisers more for ad placement as video episodes command more attention from listeners.

> [!NOTE]
> Video podcasting is an optional feature
>
> To activate video podcasting in Omny Studio, please contact your PDM or CSM at [Omny customer support](/user/docs/contact-omny-support).

## Learn About Video Podcasting

For more videos on Omny Studio, see [Content Delivery Webinar Recordings](/user/docs/content-delivery-webinars#omny-studio).

## Enable and Restrict Video Podcasting

After enabling video, networks and programs can include video clips. You can restrict video podcasting to specific networks and programs. This is useful for limiting bandwidth and storage costs.

1. Go to **Organization settings > Feature restrictions**.
2. In **Networks**, specify which networks may have video content. Checking a network allows all of its programs to use video.
3. In **Programs**, specify which programs in all of your networks may have video.
4. Select **Save changes**.

## Create Clips and Playlists for Video

- [Supported Formats](/user/docs/omny-studio-supported-formats): Prepare your video media for the best experience for your audience.
- [Create video clips](/user/docs/upload-to-omny-studio): Upload your media and specify its metadata in a clip.
- [Add video clips to playlists](/user/docs/uploading-a-new-podcast-episode): A playlist can contain audio clips, video clips, or a mix of both.
- [Replace a Clip's Media](/user/docs/replace-clip-media): You can replace an existing audio clip with its video version.

## Publish Video Podcasts

- [Submit Video to Apple Podcasts](/user/docs/submit-premium-content-hls-video-apple-podcasts): Manage how video clips appear in Apple Podcasts.
- [Submit a Podcast to iHeartRadio](/user/docs/submit-your-podcast-to-iheartradio): Distribute video clips in iHeartRadio players.
- [Publish to Spotify](/user/docs/submit-your-podcast-to-spotify): Manage how video clips appear in Spotify.
- [Manage your RSS feed](/user/docs/where-is-my-rss-feed): Choose how your RSS feeds refer to your video clips for compatibility with podcast directories and platforms.

## Ad Insertion for Video

Just as for audio podcasts, you can insert audio ads into your video podcasts. All players, both Omny Studio and third parties, play audio ads when streaming your video from the Omny Studio PDN. For details on ad insertion, see [Advertise on Podcasts in Omny Studio](/user/docs/advertising-on-podcasts-in-omny-studio).

- The Omny Studio PDN currently doesn’t support video ad insertion.
- You can target video clips with the `omny_media_type:video` ttag. For details, see [Use TTags for Targeting Ads](/user/docs/using-triton-tags-ttags-for-advertising-targeting-triton-tap-customers-only).
- Ad insertion for video clips is only supported in Triton-provisioned organizations.
- Impressions are reported as consumed audio ads.

### Ad Banners for Video

When playing an audio ad, you can also specify an ad banner to go with it. For details, see [Add a Banner for Omny Studio Video Clips](/user/docs/banners-script-blocks#add-a-banner-ads-for-omny-studio-video-clips).

If there is no banner for the ad, the video player shows this static image:

## Billing for Video

Because video media needs more storage space than audio media, storage costs can be higher. You can see the **Video storage** amount for Omny-hosted video media in **Organization settings > Plan & billing**,

## Tip: Hosting Your Own Video

Omny Studio takes care of hosting your video, including storage, processing, and streaming. But if you're hosting your own video, you can use a custom field to link to your self-hosted video in your RSS feed or access it with the [Consumer API](/user/docs/consumer-api). For more information, see [Custom Fields](/user/docs/custom-fields).
