# Upload to Omny Studio

You can create clips in Omny Studio by uploading audio and video files from your computer. You can then use these clips as podcast episodes by adding them to [playlists](/user/docs/uploading-a-new-podcast-episode).

## Upload as a New Clip

You can upload an audio or video file as a new clip. After Omny uploads your media, you can fill in the clip’s details. You can upload more than one media file at a time, Omny creates a new clip for each file.

## Upload to a Draft Clip

You can prepare a new episode before the media is ready by creating a new [draft clip](/user/docs/creating-a-draft-clip). When the media file is ready, you can upload it to the draft clip.

## Upload to a Playlist

You can upload a media file directly to a playlist. This also creates a [private clip](/user/docs/clip-visibility) for the media file so that you can edit the clip’s details before publishing it.

## Use Only Audio From a Video Clip

You can upload video media for a clip but use only its audio with a clip’s **Media Format**setting. This is useful for audio-only podcasts that you publish with Omny Studio.

You can also specify how Omny refers to your video and audio clips in playlists. For details, see [Playlist Media Format](/user/docs/playlists-explained#playlist-media-format).

A clip’s **Media format**setting specifies only how Omny serves a clip’s media to your audience. It does not modify the original media file that you upload to a clip. **Media format**has no effect for audio clips.
