Stream doesn't start in V4 Player
Autoplay in the V4 player has been disabled by Triton Digital, so listeners must press "Play" in the player after clicking the "Listen Live" button. If the stream does not begin after pressing "Play," it is likely due to one of the following problems.
An ad blocker is blocking the stream
An ad blocker might be preventing the preroll from playing, which in turn prevents the stream from starting (the stream won't start until the preroll finishes playing).
The solution is to disable any ad blocker web browser extensions you are using. Most ad blockers allow you to disable them on a per-page or per-site basis (i.e., to add sites to an "allow list" where the ad blocker does not block ads). However, there is no guarantee that this will be 100% effective.
Examples of ad blocking browser plug-ins:
Note: the Firefox browser includes a built-in content blocker. To access it, click the "i" icon to the left of the URL field.
Stream is down
For various reasons, stations' streams occasionally go down. When a stream is down, the player message is usually stuck on the message "Status - Live stream connection in progress ..." If you experience an apparent stream down, contact the station's technical support and inform them of the situation.
Example of a stream down message:
Stream is geo-blocked
Stations sometimes place a restriction to who is able to listen to the stream, based on their location. This is usually associated with a sporting event blackout, or some other type of regional blackout due to the station not having the legal right to broadcast the event in that area.
You'll know this is the situation if you see the message "Sorry, this content is not available in your area" in the player.
This is usually a temporary situation which resolves itself when the geo-blocked event concludes. Try listening later.
Flash permissions required
Since June 2017, most web browsers block the Flash plugin by default, although you can sometimes still manually enable it. The Triton V4 Player automatically loads in HTML5 mode by default, so for most listeners, Flash blocking is not an issue. However, if you are using an older or obscure browser that does not support HTML5, the V4 Player falls back to Flash. While this will usually work, Triton Digital recommends you upgrade to a newer browser.
