# Create and Manage TAP Users

As a TAP Organization Administrator, you can create, edit, and delete, enable, and disable TAP accounts.

Unless you have a small organization, do not assign users to the **Default**team, except for Organizations Administrators. Instead, create teams according to your organization's stations and markets, and assign users to the appropriate teams for their work.

## Important: A TAP User Needs a Triton Account

Before creating a TAP user, you must first create a Triton user.

A TAP account’s username must be the email address in the user’s Triton user account. Creating a TAP user before creating a Triton account shows an error message: “There was an error validating the user”.

Also, TAP relies on rules that Triton **Settings**applies for acceptable usernames. As a best-practice, we suggest creating the Triton user first, which will then be verified by TAP when creating the TAP user.

## Create a TAP User

When creating a TAP account for a user, the TAP account user name must be the same as the email address in the user’s Triton account.

> [!TIP]
> You can also create more than one user at a time. For more information, see [Bulk Add Users](/user/docs/bulk-add-users).

1. If the user doesn’t already have a Triton account, create it. See [Create and Manage Users](/user/docs/creating-managing-users).
2. Go to **Settings > User Management**.
3. Find the user’s Triton account, then copy their email address into the clipboard.
4. Go to **TAP > TAP Settings > Organizations > Users**.
5. Select **+ New User**.
6. In **New User**, fill in **User details**:
  - **Username**: Paste the user’s email address from their Triton account.
  - **Teams**: Choose appropriate teams for the user. See [Teams](/user/docs/teams).
  - **Direct role**: Choose the TAP role for the user when working with campaigns and flights. This is a separate role from the user’s Triton account. See [TAP User Roles](/user/docs/user-roles).
  - **Programmatic roles**: Choose roles for access to TAP Programmatic. This is a separate role from the user’s Triton account. See [TAP Programmatic](/user/docs/tap-programmatic).
7. To save your changes, select **Create user** or **Create user and create another user**.

## Edit a TAP User

You can change all settings for a user’s TAP account except Email.

If you must change a user’s email address, delete the user’s Triton account and TAP account, then create a new Triton account and TAP account using the new email address.

1. Go to **TAP > TAP Settings > Organizations > Users** to find the user.
2. In the user’s options **⋯** menu, select **Edit user**.
3. Make changes to the user as needed.
4. To save your changes, select **Save user**.

## Delete a TAP User

> [!WARNING]
> Deleting a user’s TAP account cannot be undone.

Deleting a user’s TAP account prevents the user from accessing TAP and TAP Programmatic but the user can still log into other Triton applications. For information on also deleting the user’s Triton account, see [Creating and Managing Users](/user/docs/creating-managing-users).

Deleting a TAP account does not affect audit log events associated with it. For traceability reasons, Triton keeps those events and they still appear in audit logs. For more information, see [Audit Logs](/user/docs/audit-logs).

1. Go to **TAP > TAP Settings > Organizations > Users** to find the user.
2. In the user’s options **⋯** menu, select **Delete user**.
3. In the confirmation dialog, select your choice.

## Enable or Disable a TAP User

You can enable or disable a user’s TAP account independently of their Triton account.

Enabling or disabling a user’s TAP account prevents the user from accessing TAP and TAP Programmatic but the user can still log into and use other Triton applications. For information on also disabling and activating the user’s Triton account, see [Triton User Management Tasks](/user/docs/triton-user-management-tasks).

2. In the user’s options **⋯** menu, select **Edit user**.
3. In **User overview**, select the **Status**you want.
