# Status

[Campaigns](/user/docs/the-tap-user-interface-campaigns), [flights](/user/docs/flights), [advertisers](/user/docs/advertisers), and other items in TAP have a status that affects how TAP works with the item. There is also flight *delivery* status, which only applies to flights.

## Status

Status refers to the state of the item's configuration. The status changes automatically as the configuration changes, such as when the delivery start date arrives. You can also manually change the status of an item from the item's overview sidebar or by using the **Status** column in a list.

The image below shows an example of a flight’s status in the **Flight overview** sidebar.

| **Status** | **Used with...** | **Description** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Draft** | • Flights • Campaigns | The item is not yet ready. Draft flights do not reserve inventory. Only **Active** and **Paused** flights reserve inventory. |
| **Active** | • Flights • Advertisers | The flight is eligible for delivery if it also meet these conditions: - Its campaign must be **Approved**. - Its advertiser must be **Active**. |
| **Approved** | • Campaigns |  |
| **Declined** | • Campaigns |  |
| **Paused** | • Flights | Paused flights do not deliver impressions, but they do reserve inventory. |
| **Inactive** | • Advertisers | You cannot create a new flight with an inactive advertiser. Campaigns with an inactive advertiser also become inactive. |
| **Done** | • Flights • Campaigns | Flights: - The flight has finished delivering. - TAP sets flights to **Done** when the flight has expired by reaching its **End date** and **End time**. For details, see [How Flights Expire](/user/docs/how-flight-status-works-in-tap-with-time-zones-reporting-and-delivery). - You can also set a flight’s status to **Done**. - You cannot edit or re-activate a flight that has **Done** status. You can, however, [copy](/user/docs/copying-a-flight) or [archive](/user/docs/the-tap-user-interface-archiving) it. Campaigns: - All of the campaign’s flights have a status of either **Done** or **Archived**. - You cannot edit or re-activate a campaign that has **Done** status. You can, however, [copy](/user/docs/copying-campaigns) or [archive](/user/docs/the-tap-user-interface-archiving) it. |

## Flight Delivery Status

Flight *delivery* status refers to the readiness of TAP to start delivering the flight. Flight *delivery status* doesn't necessarily correspond to [*flight status*](/v1/docs/status#status). For example, if a flight's *delivery status* is **pending**, and you then archive the flight, the archived flight's *status* is **Archived**, but its *delivery status* remains as **Pending**.

> A flight's start date can only be changed when the flight's delivery status is "Pending."

| **Delivery Status** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| **Pending** | The flight is not ready to deliver. Typically, this means creative is missing or the start date has not yet arrived. |
| **Ready** | The flight can deliver. It is fully configured and the flight start date has arrived. The flight may or may not actually be delivering. Example: There could be a problem preventing delivery. |
| **On hold** | Temporary status applied when a flight that was **Ready** is no longer ready, such as if its creative has been deleted. |
| **Inactive** | The advertiser has **Inactive** status. If the advertiser is set to **Active**, its inactive flights will also be reactivated. |
| **Done** | The flight has finished delivering. Typically this means it has reached its delivery goal. Note that flight status **Done** does not necessarily correspond to flight delivery status **Done**. For example, if the flight reaches its end date without achieving its goal, the flight status will be **Done** but the flight delivery status will still be **Ready**, indicating you can extend the flight's date range and continue delivery. |
