Shoutcast V2-format streams contain embedded cue points, transmitted over the Ultravox 2.1 protocol (web archive), encoded as SHOUTcast 2.0 XML Metadata (web archive), and using the mappings defined in the Triton Digital Metadata for Shoutcast V2 Specification (available upon request from Triton Digital).
Shoutcast V2 does not support cue point previews.
To determine whether Shoutcast V2 metadata is available for given stream, use the <shoutcast-v2> tag in the Provisioning Response (detailed above). Shoutcast V2 is only available if the <shoutcast-v2> tag is present, and its enabled attribute is true.
The URL to the Shoutcast V2 stream is built as described in Stream URL, where the value of <mountSuffix> comes from the <shoutcast-v2> tag’s mountSuffix attribute.
