# Create a Live Stream Recording Agent

You can record from your live stream’s URL or a Triton Station.

Omny Studio can use the metadata cues in your Triton, HLS, or SHOUT/ICEcast live stream to customize which parts of your broadcasts are recorded into your Omny Studio portal.

To configure HLS format streams please [contact Omny support](/user/docs/contact-omny-support)with your stream URL. This needs to be configured by an Omny technician.

## Step 1: Create the Recording Agent

- Login to Omny Studio then go to **Organizations Settings > Live recording**.
- Select **Set up new Recording Agent**.
- Choose one of these:
  - Enable **Basic live stream capture** then enter **Live stream URL**.
  - Enable **Triton live stream capture** then enter **Triton Station Callsign**.

## Step 2: Configure Cue Point Handling

- Triton live stream: By default, the Triton live stream agent will react to every metadata cue by creating a new recording. To specify exactly which parts of the broadcast you'd like to record, enable Triton cue-point override. See [Triton 'record' cuepoint override](/user/docs/triton-record-cuepoint-override).
- Icecast or Shoutcast streams: By default, the agent will record in hour-long blocks. To start a new recording at every cue point, enable **Icecast or Shoutcast metadata**.
- HLS streams, or for Icecast or Shoutcast streams that don’t have compatible cue points: Please [Contact Omny Support](/user/docs/contact-omny-support) .

## Step 3: Schedule Your Shows

- For details, see [Scheduling a program to record](/user/docs/scheduling-a-program-to-record).
