# Reach Extension for Owners

The essential steps for inventory owners using Reach Extension are:

- Work with Triton Digital to enable reseller delegation.
- Monitor the **Contracts**section in TAP to watch for new contracts.
- Create a reseller advertiser for each reseller you contract with.
- Create campaigns and flights to delegate inventory to the reseller via the contract.

This feature is only available to publishers and resellers using the optional Reach Extension feature.

This feature only applies to owners who are TAP users, not [external publisher Owners](/user/docs/reach-extension#terminology).

## Using Reach Extension for Owners

Before using Reach Extension you need to [Contact Triton Digital](/user/docs/contact-support) to enable contract creation for Reach Extension.

> The existence of a contract is not a guarantee of inventory delivery.

### Step 1: Authorize the Reseller in ads.txt

As an inventory owner, you must authorize the Reach Extension reseller in your ads.txt and app-ads.txt files. You do this by adding an entry for the reseller so that buyers and DSPs (demand side platforms) can correctly validate the reseller’s relationship with you and resell your inventory. For details on editing these files, see [Set Up ads.txt and app-ads.txt](/user/docs/setting-up-adstxt-and-app-adstxt). You only need to do this once.

1. Get the reseller’s Triton Publisher ID. You can get the Publisher ID from **TAP > Ads > Contracts > Contracts on my inventory**. For details, see [Contracts for Inventory Owners](/user/docs/contracts#contracts-for-inventory-owners).
2. Add this line to the end of your ads.txt file. If you also have an app-ads.txt file, add the same line. Replace *publisher-id* with the reseller's Publisher ID.

`tritondigital.com, publisher-id, RESELLER, 19b4454d0b87b58b`

### Step 2: Create Reseller Advertiser

- When a new contract appears, create a reseller advertiser as described [here](/user/docs/reseller-advertiser).

### Step 3: Create a Delegate Campaign and Flight

1. [Create a campaign](/user/docs/creating-campaigns) and select the reseller as the advertiser.
2. [Create a flight](/user/docs/creating-a-flight) in the reseller advertiser campaign. Reseller flights are created the same way as regular flights with the following exceptions:
  - When the flight is part of a delegate campaign tied to a reseller advertiser, the **Flight type** is pre-selected as **Reselling** and cannot be changed.
  - After saving the flight, the Owner must **select a contract** (see image, below). This replaces selecting *creative* (as is done with regular flights).
  - Select a **duration** in the contract selector. This is the duration of the expected creative coming from the buyer (via the reseller). It is used to reserve inventory.

3. Click **Select contract**in the flight.
4. In the contract selector, select the contract you want to connect to from the drop-down list.
5. Optionally, see all contracts with you from this reseller (opens in a separate browser tab).
6. Select the inventory duration. This is used for **reserving inventory**, not for filtering creative.
7. Click **Save** to connect the contract to the flight.

Once the flight is saved with the contract, it is ready to match with a reseller flight that targets the same contract. Note that the date ranges for the flights must overlap in that the reseller's flight will only deliver when it is within the date range of the owner's flight. Be sure to check the date range on the contract.

## Tips for Owners

- It is highly recommended that you communicate directly with the reseller you are contracting with to ensure you both understand what inventory you are willing to offer them for resale. For example, if you want to offer them inventory targeted to a certain geographic area, they should be aware of that. The reseller does not have insight into the targeting details of your flight aside from what you tell them, so you should avoid targeting settings that the reseller is unaware of.
- To get the maximum benefit from the inventory you are reselling you should apply as few targeting rules as possible to the delegate flight you create.
