# Connection Analysis

**Connection Analysis** shows you graphs that display metrics related to connection time.

## Adding Filters

You must include at least one **publisher/group/station**, and a [**Date Range**](/user/docs/streaming-explore#choosing-a-date-range). You can also add optional filters.

- Click the first filter button to open the **[Selection Management Area](/v1/docs/streaming-explore#selection-management)** to select the **publisher/group/station**. *You can select multiple items of the same type, such as multiple groups from the same publisher, or multiple stations within the same group. You cannot intermix, such a choosing stations from different publishers or stations from different groups*.
- Click the current [date range](/user/docs/streaming-explore#choosing-a-date-range) selection to open the **Selection Management Area** to change the date range.
- Click **Add new** to add one or more optional filters. If you add **no optional filters**, the charts displayed are for *all dimensions*for the selected publisher, group, or station and date range. Otherwise, the charts show only the filtered data.
  - **Optional filters**(dimensions) include:
    - Country
    - Device Family
    - Player Family

## **Reading the Graphs**

Connection Analysis creates two graphs:

- [Connection Time Interval](/user/docs/connection-analysis#connection-time-interval)
- [Granular Interval Connection Time](/user/docs/connection-analysis#granular-interval-connection-time)

### *Connection Time Interval*

Connection Time Interval is a sunburst graph that shows six segments, in which each segment represents an interval:

- 1 to 5 minutes
- 5 to 30 minutes
- 30 to 60 minutes
- 1hour to 2 hours
- 2 hours to 8 hours
- More than 8 hours

Streaming sessions of less than one minute are automatically filtered out as invalid traffic (IVT).

Each segment indicates the number and percentage of listeners which stayed connected for that interval for the selected filters (e.g., for the selected the stations during the selected date range and dayparts). The behavior is similar to the sunburst graphs in [Webcast Charts](/user/docs/streaming-charts#singletiered-sunbursts). Hover your cursor over a segment to see details about that particular segment.

The data can be [exported](/user/docs/exporting-triton-metrics-reports) as a branded XLSX file.

1. Hover over a segment to see...
2. That segment's details in the center of the diagram. In this example, 3,704 connections (40%) were connected for 5 to 30 minutes. *Percentage is rounded to the nearest whole number*.
3. The segment's corresponding item in the sidebar graph is highlighted. *Percentage is rounded to the first decimal*.

### *Granular Interval Connection Time*

Granular Interval Connection Time shows a bar graph with a more granular breakdown of intervals than is found in the sunburst graph. Hover your cursor over a segment to see details about that particular segment. The data can be [exported](/v1/docs/exporting-triton-metrics-reports) as a branded XLSX file to see the precise numbers.
