The items below are found in the Player Configuration page. See Logging In for information on how to get there.
This topic outlines the Preroll Configurations. The preroll is an ad that plays prior to your stream opening. Once the player is launched it immediately looks for a preroll ad to play. If one is available, it plays, then the player proceeds with your broadcast audio.
To configure the preroll:
- In Player Web Admin v4, click the
sign to the left of Monetization, then click the
sign to the left of Preroll Configuration. There are four different sources from which prerolls can originate:
- Third Party (includes AdGear, TargetSpot, VastAd and LiveRail)
- Triton Runspot (AndoMedia Campaign Manager ad scheduling)
- Triton Vastad (Triton’s TAP ad scheduling)
- Direct Upload (single audio or video file upload)
- After selecting your preferred option, enter the additional information. For Triton RunSpot or VastAd, these details can be provided to you by your Triton team.
If you prefer to use the Direct Upload option, the configuration page explains the allowed formats and file sizes.
In each of the options provided you will need to set a Priority. By default they are set as Priority “0” which means “disabled”. The priority settings tell the player where to look first for an available preroll. A priority setting of 1 means it will be the first item we attempt to play. If nothing is currently available, then we move to priority 2 and so on. Remember that each preroll option needs a unique priority setting (e.g., you should not set two options as "priority 1," etc.).
If you enable TargetSpot for preroll delivery, you will need to open the TargetSpot field and enter the TargetSpot ID they provided to you when configuring your station. Usually this is just the call letters of the station.
