# Manage Retention for Recordings and Clips

You can automatically delete recordings and clips after a time period. You can specify content retention settings at the organization, network, and program levels.

> [!CAUTION]
> Deleted recordings and clips cannot be undone! Use content retention carefully.

- Recordings: You can manage storage costs for recordings. Your Omny Studio account includes a fixed amount of storage for each recording agent. Any recording storage above this incurs overage charges. See your contract with Omny Studio for details.
- Clips: Omny Studio provides unlimited storage for clips. But you can use content retention settings to simplify clip management by automatically removing older clips. Deleting a clip also removes it from any playlists that refer to it.

> [!TIP]
> Omny Studio can notify you when you exceed a storage limit for recordings. For details, see [Set up Live Recordings](/user/docs/setting-up-live-recordings-for-your-radio-station).

## Content Retention for an Organization

You can use organization-level retention settings to override retention settings for the organization’s programs and networks, or you can specify default retention settings for them.

1. Go to **Organization settings > Content > Content retention**.
2. Adjust **Enforce setting across this organization**:
  - Check to override retention settings in the organization’s programs and networks.
  - Uncheck to update the retention settings for programs and networks that inherit from this organization. Custom settings are unaffected.
3. Adjust the **Clip deletion** and **Recording deletion** settings.
4. Verify the estimated number of affected clips or recordings.
5. Select **Save changes**.

## Content Retention for Programs and Networks

For a program or network, you can use the same retention settings as its parent organization or customize them. You cannot change a program or network’s retention settings if **Enforce setting across this organization**is enabled in the parent organization’s retention settings.
