# CDN Usage

**CDN Usage Explore** shows you the data transfer metrics for your content delivery network (CDN). All reported data is based on the station's local timezone.

The available data for this report begins on July 1, 2023.

## Adding Filters

You must include at least one **publisher/group/station**, and a [**Date Range**](https://help.tritondigital.com/user/docs/streaming-explore#choosing-a-date-range).

- Click the **first filter button** to open the **[Selection Management Area](https://help.tritondigital.com/user/docs/streaming-explore#selection-management)** to select the **publisher/group/station**. *You can select multiple items of the same type, such as multiple publishers, or multiple stations. You cannot intermix, such a choosing a publisher and then a group or a station*.
- Click the current [date range](https://help.tritondigital.com/user/docs/streaming-explore#choosing-a-date-range) selection to open the **Selection Management Area** to change the date range.

## Metrics

Choose one or more metrics that you wish to view:

- Data (GB)
- Sessions
- Duration

#### Understanding CDN Usage Metrics

CDN Usage metrics are based on **session ends**, so Sessions are calculated differently from how they are calculated in other Triton Metrics reports.

- For "**Sessions**," it counts the number of sessions that **ended** in the selected date range. For example, if a session starts at 10:00PM on September 1 and ends at 3:00AM on September 2, it is **not counted** in a report where the date range ends on September 1, but it **is counted as “1”** in a report where the date range begins on September 2.
- For "**Duration**," if we use the same example as above, the duration for that session is "**0**" for a report that ends on September 1 (because the listening session had not yet ended), and it is "**5**” for a report that begins on September 2 (because it includes the entire session which ended on September 2, including the two hours from September 1).

## Dimensions

Choose one or more dimensions that you want to see in your report.
