Bid Request Tool

Users with the Programmatic Publisher or Ad network role can view programmatic bid requests and responses with TAP > TAP Settings > Programmatic > Bid Request Tool. Use this tool when troubleshooting deals that aren’t generating revenue or campaigns that are not running as expected.

The Bid Request Tool is a safe way to see bid requests and responses. It does not affect your bids, it only takes samples of bids for you to inspect.

You create samples with the Bid Request Tool. A sample captures bids that match criteria that you specify, such as Demand Partner, Station, and Deal ID. You can also specify how long the sample should be in effect and how many bids to collect. When the sample is complete, you can view and download the results.

Create a Sample

TAP starts collecting bids when you save the sample. A sample stops collecting bids when it reaches its TTL (time to live) or Number of results, which ever happens first.

You cannot pause, edit, or delete a sample. TAP automatically archives samples after 30 days.

For quick results, use the default TTL and Number of results. If a sample doesn’t capture bids, then create a new sample with a longer TTL.

  1. Switch to the TAP organization to get bid request samples.

  2. Go to TAP > TAP Settings > Programmatic > Bid Request Tool.

  3. Select Create new sample.

  4. To capture bid responses or requests, check or uncheck Bid response or Bid request. You must check at least one.

  5. Choose a Demand Partner.

  6. Optional: In Station, enter a station or podcast.

  7. In Description, enter a useful summary for the sample.

  8. Optional: Enter a Deal ID.

  9. Optional: In TTL, enter how many hours you want to capture bids before the sample expires or completes. The default is 1 hour.

  10. Optional: In Number of results, enter how many bid requests and responses you want to capture. The default is 1 result.

  11. To start the sample, select Create new sample.
